Hearts in Heaven by Andrew-and-Seven Hearts in Heaven by Andrew-and-Seven
Shot today, Xmas Day on the shore of Derwentwater in the Lake District, Cumbria UK.

I was out for a spin in my bro's new car when I saw the light over the lake and so we stopped and spent an hour walking along the shoreline.

Amazing to witness what I think was a present from Weather Man.

Absolutely stunning. Typically images featuring reflections are split down the middle but that'd ruin the fine composition of this particular example. Beautiful work, Mr Seven.

Oh yeah, Merry Christmas (getting in early for '08)!! ;p

Like you wouldn't believe. I don't really think this shot has an arty merit, the intention was to put you in that place with me, to see what I saw. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

It was a real magic hour.

"Beautiful" is exactly what the scene was. It is a very picturesque place most times (ie when you can see the other side of the lake) but that morning really was something special. There are 3 other shots from further along the lakeside in the gallery, all taken in the same 30mins or so, check'em out to see the real amazing sun/low cloud/mist thing that generated the light in this pic.
