Taken today at Druid's Hairpin at Brands Hatch, Kent during qualifying for the final round of the Bennetts British Superbikes Championship.

It's James Haydon on board the Hawk Kawasaki ZX-10R Superbike. The flaming is caused by unused petrol being dumped into the exhaust system and igniting when the throttle is released.

Oh yes, some bikes do a lot. Depends on the fuelling set up they have - it's caused by excess petrol being pushed into the engine when the rider has eased off on the 'gas' so the petrol goes down the exhaust and ignites on the hot metal.
